You Can Be Healed!

God is a Healer. It is His nature to heal. He has revealed Himself as "I am the Lord Who Heals" (Exodus 15:26).

It is as natural and easy for God to heal as it is for you to breathe.

When Jesus walked the earth, He perfectly represented the will of God. He spent a large part of His time healing the sick.

ACTS 10:38 NKJ
38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

MATTHEW 12:15 NKJ
15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there; and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.

MATTHEW 14:14 NKJ
14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

LUKE 4:40 NKJ
40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.

Fortunately, Jesus has not changed. Although He is not here on earth physically now, He made provision for you to be healed through His Word and His Name.

HEBREWS 13:8 NKJ
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

HEALING IS YOURS

Because of the sacrifice of Jesus to redeem you, healing is already yours. He paid the price for you to have it -- now you must receive it by faith.

1 PETER 2:24 NKJ
24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness -- by whose stripes you were healed.

HOW TO RECEIVE

There are three main ways you can receive God's supernatural healing. He works through many methods. Remember that God is the Healer, not the method by which you receive.

1. Have Someone Pray For You Or Minister To You.

MARK 16:17-18 NKJ
17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 "... they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

JAMES 5:14-15 NKJ
14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

2. Pray For Yourself.

MARK 11:23-24 NKJ
23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.
24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

3. Take God's Word As A Medicine.

PSALM 107:20 NKJ
20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

PROVERBS 4:20-22 NKJ
20 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

JOHN 8:31-32 NKJ
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

The primary way to take God's Word as a medicine is to speak it. You can also take it by listening to it.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

You receive from God by faith. That means you must believe what God says.

MARK 9:23 NKJ
23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."

MATTHEW 8:13 NKJ
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

If you are having trouble believing, feed on God's Word, which will cause your faith to grow. You can also request someone else to pray for you whose faith is already strong.

However you receive your healing, continue to feed on God's Word. The devil may try to steal your healing, but if you keep your faith strong by feeding on the Word, you will be able to resist him and keep your healing.

Even if you pray for yourself, you need other members of the Body of Christ who can encourage you. We are here to love you and help you. Please call on us.

SAMPLE HEALING PRAYER

Jesus is Lord. God raised Him from the dead, victorious over satan, sin, and sickness. There is healing in the Name of Jesus. So, sickness and disease, I command you to leave my body now, in the Name of Jesus. Leave me alone satan. Jesus is my Lord. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I receive healing for my body, and I declare in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am now well. I believe I receive my healing, in the Name of Jesus.

JESUS IS A HEALER

EXODUS 15:26 "... I am the Lord who heals you."

23 Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."

MATTHEW 9:35 NKJ
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

MATTHEW 12:10,13 NKJ
10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?" -- that they might accuse Him.
13 Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.

MATTHEW 13:15 NKJ

MATTHEW 19:2 NKJ
2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.

MATTHEW 21:14 NKJ
14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

MARK 1:34 NKJ
34 Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.

MARK 3:10 NKJ
10 For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.

MARK 6:5-6 NKJ
5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.

LUKE 4:18 NKJ
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,"

LUKE 4:40 NKJ
40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.

LUKE 5:15 NKJ
15 Then the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

LUKE 6:17-19 NKJ
17 And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases,
18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed.
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

LUKE 8:43,44,47,48 NKJ
43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any,
44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, "Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace."

13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day."
15 The Lord then answered....
16 "So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound --think of it -- for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?"

LUKE 14:3-4 NKJ

14 So when He saw them, He said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
15 Now one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,

24 (Christ) Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness -- by whose stripes you were healed.

Healing Can Never Pass Away

Many have proclaimed divine healing is not for today, but ceased long ago. Unbelief like that is not new; the devil has preached it for thousands of years. It is simple to determine the truth for yourself. Look in the Bible to see what God has said.

Begin by looking at three passages to find out God's Word is capable of healing and does heal. Then see, from the Scripture, that His Word will never pass away. After that examine two other simple, but profound, arguments.

Matthew 8:5-10,13
5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,
6 saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented."
7 And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
8 The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.
9 "For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

The centurion recognized Jesus had authority: His word would get the job done. Jesus called that great faith. Does His Word still have authority? Do you recognize the authority of His Word?

Proverbs 4:20-22
20 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Psalm 107:20
20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

You have now seen three scriptures clearly saying God's Word heals. Is that Word still available today?

Mark 13:31
31 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

Isaiah 40:8
8 "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."

1 Peter 1:23
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

Since God's Words will never pass away, healing can never pass away!

Exodus 15:26
26 "... For I am the Lord who heals you."

God chose to first reveal Himself by this Name to His chosen people Israel after He delivered them from bondage. He told them He was a Healer.

It is God's nature to heal. For Him it is natural; just as it is natural for you to breathe. To stop being the "Lord Who Heals" would be to stop being Himself.

Is He still the same today, or has He changed?

Malachi 3:6
6 "For I am the Lord, I do not change;"

Hebrews 13:8
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

James 1:17
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Not only does He not change, the passage in James makes it clear He does not even vary one bit! He will be the same forever.

If all the above was not enough to convince you, consider this:

Mark 9:23
23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."

Matthew 17:20
20 ... I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

There are two statements from Jesus that nothing is impossible. Certainly that includes healing! That should convince you.

Do you believe this? Or must you have Jesus touch you (or you touch Him: like Thomas) before you will believe?

Matthew 8:13
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

SUMMARY

A. God's Word heals.

The Word will never pass away.

So healing can never pass away.

B. God is a Healer.

He never changes.

So healing will never cease.

C. All things are possible.

So YOU Can Be Healed!

God's Word Is A Medicine

You can take God's Word as a medicine with no danger of taking an overdose.

You do not have to buy it. It is free.

Whatever sickness or disease you are suffering from, God's Word can cure it. It is effective for any condition.

If satisfactory results are not obtained right away, double the dosage.

Like any medicine, God's Word has to be taken to be effective. It will not work sitting on the shelf. And it has to be taken according to the directions.

If you will follow God's directions as faithfully as you would follow the directions of a human doctor, you will see wonderful results.

Here are the directions:

PROVERBS 4:20-23 NKJ
20 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

In verse 22 the Hebrew word translated health is translated as medicine in some translations.

PSALM 107:20 NKJ
20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

God's Word will heal. It is full of God's power and carries the authority of God who spoke it.

God's Word will not return to God void, but will produce what He sent it to do.

JOHN 8:31-32 NKJ
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

You have the guarantee of Jesus -- His Word will produce freedom.

But, you must abide, or continue in His Word. You must feed it in until you know that you know that you know the truth. Then you will act on that Truth -- and it will make you free.

God's medicine works by taking His Word into your being. You do that by listening to the Word, reading the Word, and speaking the Word.

Filling your thoughts with the Word of God more than anything else is the key. The more of God's medicine you take, the better off you will be!
